The crime branch of Nagpur police has taken action against thieves and burglars, successfully resolving nine cases in two operations. This has brought relief to the citizens. In one operation, two burglars were caught and seven cases were solved. The city police's crime branch has intensified efforts to address the rising concerns of vehicle thefts and burglaries among the public. In the first operation, two burglars were apprehended by crime branch unit 3, leading to the resolution of seven cases. Recent incidents included a burglary at Mukesh Nipani's residence in Vaishali Nagar, where cash and valuables worth Rs6.54 lakh were stolen. The police commenced an investigation, identifying the accused through CCTV footage and tracking them down. The accused, Ramakant alias Rambhau Shahu (27) and Narendra alias Bali Bokde (23), confessed to their involvement in multiple thefts and burglaries. Stolen items and vehicles worth Rs9.53 lakh were recovered. Additionally, in a separate incident, crime branch unit 5 arrested three individuals and solved two cases of vehicle theft. Suspects Akash Nagrale (27), Yogesh Chavhan (25), and Devendra Thakre (24) were apprehended with the help of CCTV footage and intelligence on the ground.Two stolen vehicles valued at Rs1.20 lakh have been recovered, and the bike used in the crime has been seized. According to sources, vehicle thefts mainly occur in busy or market areas of the city. Most burglaries are reported on the outskirts of the city, under the jurisdiction of police stations like Hudkeshwar, Wathoda, Pratap Nagar, and others. Locals are calling for increased night patrolling by the police to prevent such incidents. Police are advising residents to inform their neighbors and local police stations if they are planning to leave the city, to help ensure that their homes are monitored by authorities and the community.
